3 Simple Tips to Help You Prepare for 2018

Two more days and it is already Christmas!

A lot of things happened.

There were parties, Christmas shopping, and family events.

Life is moving so fast that a few more days and it is already 2018.

It is another year to renew our dreams, hopes and aspirations.

It is another year of opportunity to live and pursue our passions.

But before we get overwhelmed with the holidays, I would like to invite you to PAUSE for a moment and REFLECT.

Tip No. 1: Review 2017

Do you still have a copy of your new year’s resolution for 2017?

If you still have, get it and cross out what you have accomplished.

What were your milestones for this year?

What were your highs and lows?

What are your top 3 learning for this year?

As a wealth planner, my usual question will be how are your finances and your financial goals?

This is a link on my article concerning this:

A Review on your 2017 Financial Goals

Surprisingly, you’ll be amazed how much you tell about a person based on how he spends his money.

Where did you spend most of your money this 2017?

Is it for your family? Vacation? Friends? Education? Health? Debt?

Take also a moment to REFLECT how’s your 2017 in terms of your spiritual, relationships, health, career, financial, and education.

Tip No. 2: Make a Vision Board for 2018

I believe that while you are reviewing your 2017, you are at the same time thinking of ways on how you can improve and make 2018 your best year yet!

I am encouraging you to create a vision board.

Take a picture of the things you would like to accomplish for the next 2-3 years.

Don’t limit it! Be as creative and imaginative as possible!

It would also be better if you can place at the center of your vision board your BIG WHY!

This will help you keep going when times get tough and be persistent in following your dreams!

This is my vision board for the next 2-3 years. It is composed of my spiritual, relationship, health, career, financial, and educational goals:

Place your vision board in a place where you can see it everyday.

Take 2-5 minutes a day, preferably while drinking coffee, looking at it.

Feel it. Claim it.

This will be your fuel for 2018 to get up everyday and do your best!

Because you have a dream! A vision that you always see!

Your job now is to make that vision a reality!

As the saying goes, “When you know your WHY, the HOW follows.”

Tip No. 3: Make Every Day Count!

2018 is composed of 365 days! That’s a total of 8,760 hours.

If you are sleeping 8 hours a day and wasting 4 hours a day (in chatting, social media, traffic, or whatever it is), you are left with only 4,380 hours or 182.5 days to optimize.

Go back to your vision board, at least 1 item in it costs money.

It can be money to buy a car, house, travel, gadget, or just have a savings plan.

Make those dreams a reality by working hard in your career or in your business.

Make every hour count: study, practice, and work.

Don’t procrastinate.

Start taking charge of your finances.

Start saving and investing it.

If one of your goals is to travel, set a travel fund and make sure to save everyday.

If it is a long term goal, start investing.

Whatever it is, my challenge for you is to start acting on your dreams now!

You only have 8,760 hours for 2018, make every hour count.
